Brief guide on how to activate (unlock) iPhone on IOS 6.0.1 via SAM Activation tickets

If by some chance you still have in your possession an  old activation ticket you might consider yourself as a lucky person because in this short tutorial I will try to explain to you how to unlock your iPhone on iOS 6.0.1 using an old SAM activation ticket.

SAM unlock, an ambiguity which was discovered by the hacker 
Loktar Sun allowed the possibility of unlocking any iPhone on any baseband including the notorious baseband 4.11.08/4.12.01. But because this ambiguity was closed shortly after its discovery it left many iPhone users in despair because of their locked iPhone’s. So as I said if by some chance you still have in your possession an old activation ticket you can follow my brief tutorial on how to activate iPhone on iOS 6.0.1.

But before you try this method allow me to remind you that in order for this method to work you  do need  ACTIVATION TICKETS, if you do not have one  you can try factory unlock solutions but of course that is not the reason why we are here, right !

Brief Tutorial on how To Unlock iPhone On iOS 6.0.1

SAM Unlock

Requirements:

• iPhone jailbroken on iOS 6.0.1 note: One of the methods to jailbreak your phone is the tool redsnow0.9.13b3.
• An old SAM unlock  activation ticket.

This tutorial works on:

• iPhone 4 (tested)
• iPhone 4S (not tested but will work)
• iPhone 3GS (tested)
• Procedure To Unlock iOS 6

STEP 1:  Download redsnow (from above link) and head over to Extras > Even More > Tickets.

STEP 2: Once you click Tickets, simply select the lockdown.zip file when you created a backup for your activation tickets.

Note: If you back up your activation tickets manually you can simply select the plist file.

STEP 3: Redsnow will show a message saying that tickets are being uploaded.

STEP 4: Once completed, reboot your device (this is a tethered boot so you will need to “Just Boot” this time).

STEP 5: Now insert the SIM card that was associated with the unlock activation ticket.

So this is the method on how to unlock your iPhone running on iOS 6.0.1.
